Kallax.io May Milestone!

This may be the best month for Kallax.io so far! This month 939 users signed up and brought in 164046 board games to the platform. 261 board game nights have been planned using the game event feature in may alone and we have been busy improving the platform with a total of 7 releases this month!
Kallax.io is an always-free tool for organizing your board game collection and arranging board game nights! Try it the demo event.
or read about it on BoardGameGeek <3
For the first time in the projects lifetime (4 years and 2 months) we are not only fully funded by donations - we even made a profit of $1! Thanks to this months supporters ieatbunnies12, nate, JohnR234, SonnySN, and kage.
The "profit" goes into supporting operating costs for June - which means that together with reoccurring donations we are 6% covered already!

Upcoming Development
We have a lot of plans for Kallax and rely on user feedback to prioritize it. Please do not hesitate to contact us on Discord, BoardGameGeek or Reddit.
Events
We will continue improving the event feature. Our goal here is to eventually be able to support discoverable events so that you can find board game events near you.
Places / Cafés
As part of the event feature we want to explore adding board game cafés on the platform. We are running some early testing with a few select cafés to scope out what is needed. The vision here is that places integrate into search and events, so you can create and event at you local café or search their collection if you are meeting friends there.
Cafés are a whole other beast which requires a lot of feature for bulk-managing large collections. These features will be made available to everyone as they are developed, as many private users of Kallax also have quite impressive collections!
Chat
We are in early testing here! The next step is allowing events to have associated chats embedded on the event page. Standalone chat rooms are also being considered so you can easily open up a new room.
You can try out the experimental chat feature here.
Thanks to the community!
Lastly, a heartfelt thanks to everyone who have given Kallax a try and especially to those who take time to write feedback and report bugs!
Also a huge thanks to everyone who helps split the hosting bill with us. We spend every penny, and often a bit more, on improving the site for everyone.
We switched from cloud to dedicated hosting in April. It did increase our operating cost but came with the benefit of predictable pricing and being able to do things like reserving 1024 connections to a chat feature.
Our dedicated server is located in France with content permanently replicated on SSDs across 15 locations worldwide* to ensure fast, reliable access no matter where you are.
